Sehwag highest run getter in ODI cricket


India's opener Virender Sehwag has created history with a score of 201 not out in just 140 balls. He scored 219 runs innnig against West Indies at Indore.  He beats Sachin Tendulkar's record of 200 not out.  Team India is on a brilliant start with 418 runs for the loss of five wickets in 50 overs. Openers Virender Sehwag and Guatam Gambhir gave the home side a push in the fourth ODI versus West Indies.
Sehwag has put up a stunning performance, enthralling fans gathered at the Holkar stadium in Indore. With a score of 201, not out, breaking his ODI high score record of 175.  Sehwag has now got the highest individual score for India both in tests and ODI.



Earlier in the day, India won the toss in Indore on Thursday, and opted to bat this time against the West Indies in the fourth ODI cricket match in the series in Indore.
One change in the Indian team is Rahul Sharma, a debutant legspinner, replaces Umesh Yadav in the playing eleven. The inclusion of Rahul Sharma will mean that all Irfan Pathan fans will not get to see him play at Indore.
India will be looking to wrap up the series, which they lead by a 2-1 score, with a win on Thursday. India, will also be hoping that the top order batsmen, especially V Sehwag and G Gambhir, who have failed with the bat in the series, get to fire big scores.

Rahul Dravid Crossed 13000 Runs in Test Cricket



The wall of Indian cicket Mr. Rahul Dravid  on Thursday became the second player in the history of Test cricket who completed 13,000 runs besides completing 1,000 runs this calendar year.

Dravid, already the second highest run-scorer in the longer format of the game, drove West Indies skipper Daren Sammy for a boundary to reach to the milestone in the 29th over of the Indian innings in the third ongoing Test. 



Cricket Legend Mr. Sachin Tendulkar was the first cricketer to achieve the 13,000-run feat and is currently the leading run-scorer in Test cricket with more than 15,000 runs under his belt.

Only eight batsmen have recorded more than 10,000 runs in Test cricket and three of them are Indians.

Playing in his 160th match, Dravid has smashed 36 centuries and 61 half-centuries so far.

For the 1,000 runs he scored this year, Dravid has taken 11 Tests. Mr. Dependable has scored five centuries in the current year thus far with two against West Indies and three against England apart from two half-centuries at an average of 59.50.

India Discovered New Opener Ajinkya Rahane


Ajinkya Rahane was born on 5 June 1988, in Ashwi-KD, Maharashtra, he is an Indian first class cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman, who represents India in international competitions and debut match against England. He is the new discovery of India team in absent of regular opener Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. In local competitions Ajinkya represents Mumbai & Mumbai Indians. He is one of the only 11 players to have scored more than 1000 runs in a single Ranji Trophy season.



Ajinkya Rahane is a very young cricketer who got appreciation by top most cricketer in a short career. He played like Virender Sehwag style in England. He progressed through the Mumbai ranks and has also been a part of the Indian U-19 team and the India 'A'. Ajinkya Rahane has also turned out for India Blue & Green in the Challenger Series, and West Zone in the Duleep Trophy. His wonderful Ranji season followed an impressive showing in the 2007-08 Duleep Trophy, where he scored 172 against an England Lions attack comprising Graham Onions, Monty Panesar, Steve Kirby and Liam Plunkett.


M S Dhoni is happy to see his performance in England, he may be future of upcoming Indian Cricket. He is the 2nd cricketer after yuvraj singh who scored half century in debut match. Earlier Yuvraj singh palyed 84 runs inning against Austalia in Kenya

BCCI announced Indian Team Upcoming ODI series 2011 against England


Today BCCI announced team upcoming ODI series against England, It will be India's first ODI series at home since winning the coveted World Cup earlier this year.  Gautam Gambhir, who missed the ODI series in England because of a head injury, returned to the team which will be without the services of as many as seven top players, including Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh because of injuries. Some fresh player also included in this series.  Aravind, the 27-year-old Karnataka fast bowler, was rewarded for his consistent performance in the domestic circuit and in the last edition of the Indian Premier League.  Umesh Yadav, who plays for Vidharba and is again a find from the IPL, has been included in the side ahead of Ashish Nehra and RP Singh.  Harbhajan Singh dropped for first two ODIs against England

"A number of senior players are not fit...it provides a great opportunity for the youngsters to prove themselves," chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth told reporters in Chennai.



The first ODI of the five-match series will be played in Hyderabad on October 14,, while Delhi will host the second game on October 17. Mohali (Oct 20), Mumbai (Oct 23) and Kolkata (Oct 25) will stage the other three matches.  Kolkata will also conduct the lone Twenty20 match against England on October 29.

Lagaan in All Time 25 Best Sports Movies List

Lagaan was the one of the biggest block buster movie of bollywood and and also nominated for an Oscar in the  Foreign Language Film category, has made it to the all-time 25 best sports movies list compiled by Time magazine. It was the movie on cricket sports. It was the milestone movie for the Aamir khan career and Indian cinema. The 2001 film, set in the times of the British Raj in India, clinched the 14th spot on the list. Produced by Aamir and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Lagaan tells the story of a group of villagers who strike a deal with the representatives of the Raj - if the locals defeat them in a game of cricket they get a break on their 'lagaan', or land tax.

"From the thunderclap in the first torrential rainstorm — a cue for riotous dancing — to the climactic sunlight on the smiling faces of millions of viewers, this Bollywood epic is cause for joy of meteorological proportions," the magazine says, calling the film "the longest and most enthralling underdog-sports movie ever".

"Even those who know none of cricket's complicated rules will bounce in their seats to AR Rahman's irrepressible tunes; here, one can immediately and fully accept the Bollywood trope of music and dance as an expression of life's deepest, most soaring emotions. As sports film, social document or communal ecstasy, Lagaan is the all-time all-rounder," it added.

Lagaan is the only Indian movie in the list, which is topped by The Big Lebowski, a film on bowling made in 1998. Body and Soul (1947), Breaking Away (1979), Bull Durham (1988) and Caddyshack (1980) rounded off the top five.

2. India's Victory over England in Natwest Series 2002


When India won Natwest Series 2002 final against England on 13th July 2002. It was unforgettable match of India. When India lost 5 wickets on 146 runs after that Mohd. Kaif and Yuvraj Singh played a very knock inning of his career. Kaif played 75 runs not out inning. Ganguly taking off his shirt to celebrate India's victory.  Sourav Ganguly found both admirers and critics for his taking off shirt after ...off a sensational win in the final of Natwest Series in November 2002. Sourav Ganguly had observed by removing his top and waving it in the air. It was the Great day for Indian cricket after that Indian team dominated in International Cricket.

3. Yuvaraj SIngh 6 Sixes In T20 World Cup


T20 Six Sixses against England, Yuvraj Singh's most memorable performance was in World Cup T20, 2007 when he hit six sixes in an over against England's. At the 2007 World Twenty20 he hit six sixes in an over against England's Stuart. . England's all rounder Andrew Flintoff could not stop himself sledging aggressive Yuvraj Singh.

4. India won T20 World Cup in 2007


India won T20 World Cup in 2007 when India beat Pakistan in final. When India took wicket of misbah ul haq. It was really a golden moments of Indian cricket team.  First T20 won India, MS Dhoni was leading Indian team and won first T20 World Cup.

India won 2011 World Cup after 28 Years beating Sri Lanka in final at Mumbai. Indian team was the favorite team of visitors. MS Dhoni became second captain who won World cup for India. It was the last world cup Sachin Tendulkar. It was really a great movement of India cricket team. Gambhir played 97 runs inning in final.

ICC 2012 T20 Cricket World Cup Schedule and Venues


 India will open their 2012 ICC T20 campaign against one of the two qualifiers at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on September 19, 2012, according to the schedule of the tournament announced by the ICC. 

India, who won the firs T20 World cup tournament in South Africa in 2007, have been placed alongside defending champions  England and a qualifier in Group A.  India will next face England at the same venue on September 23, 2012. 



England, meanwhile, will also start its title defence at the R Premadasa Stadium exactly one year from today, September 21 next year, against one of the two qualifiers for the tournament, which will conclude on October 7, 2012. 

Australia, chasing the one global trophy that has eluded them till now, will go head-to-head with the other qualifier in Colombo on September 19, 2012. 

Sri Lanka, which lost to England in the semifinal of last year's tournament in the West Indies, will open its campaign against Zimbabwe under lights in Hambantota on the first day of the tournament, September 18, before taking on South Africa at the same venue on September 22. 

If Sri Lanka reaches the Super Eight, it will then go on to play in Pallekele before moving to Colombo if it qualifies for the knock-out stage. 

Pakistan, which won the 2009 edition in England, has been grouped with New Zealand and Bangladesh, and will play their matches in Pallekele on September 23 and 25, respectively. Pallekele will also host the New Zealand-Bangladesh match on September 21. 
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Eights round, which will also be contested in two pools. The first two in each pool will advance to the semifinals. 

A total of 42 matches, including 27 men's and 15 women's games, will be played over 20 days at four venues -- R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Pallekele, Hambantota and Galle, with R Premadasa Stadium hosting the final on October 7, 2012.  "The ICC World Twenty20 is now a marquee event in T20 cricket where nations challenge each other for the most coveted title in the shortest format of the game," ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said in a statement. 

"The previous editions in South Africa, England and the West Indies have smartly established the ICC World Twenty20 as a major global event that is not only exciting and entertaining but embraces both men's and women's cricket.  "Following the legacies and success of the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, I am confident that the hosts, Sri Lanka, will deliver a world class event. 

"I am happy that the men's and women's semifinals and finals will once again be played on the same days at the same venues," he added.  Apart from the 10 Test playing nations, the tournament will also include two teams qualifying from the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012, which will be staged in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from March 13-24 next year. 

The ICC statement also said that the tickets of the T20 Cricket World Cup will be available for sale from March 1 next year.

Rahul Dravid - The Last Classical Batsman


Whenever we talk about classical batsman in cricket world, some top most classical batsman in cricket like Don Bradman, Brian Lara, Steve Waugh, Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid. Today Rahul Dravid will play last  ODI match against England of his career. It is 344th  match of his 15 years career. He is the classical batsman of modern cricket. He started test career from Lord test before 15 yrs against England. He scored more than 90s runs in first test while Saurav Ganguly scored hundred in his first test.

In the 15-year-old ODI career, Rahul Dravid has played 343 international games and scored 10, 820 runs with an impressive average of 39.06. He has 12 ODI hundreds while 82 fifties in his kitty.

Popularly known as Mr. Perfect, Dravid has every shot in his book Making ODI debut against Sri Lanka in the year 1996, initially Dravid was not considered as an ODI cricketer but his determination and dedication towards the game cemented his position as No.3 batsmen.  He did biggest partnership with Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly in ODI with more than 300 runs. Dravid’s orthodox technique makes him last classical batsman of this era.

When Ganguly was sacked as the captain during the coach Greg Chappel’s regime, Dravid was made skipper of Team India. However, a two-year stint as captain was less successful. But as a captain, he led the side to series victories in England and the West Indies for the first time in a generation. But Dravid witnessed worse downfall of his career when the Team India crushed out of 2007 World Cup in West Indies. Under the captaincy of Dravid, India lost the game against minnows Bangladesh and ousted from the World Championship in the early stage. India’s defeat in the 2007 WC cost Dravid captaincy and his ouster from the ODI team as well.

He is the first test cricket who made century against all test nation in that Land. It shows he was brilliant player and technical sound in cricket. 2011 England shows he was the single player who played very well against English bowler. 3 century against England in 2011 tour of India . Now Dravid will play only test cricket. He is the single player who played only one T-20 match of his career.
